I just read on MiceAge (a Disney news site) that they’re planning on massively re-doing California Adventure in an attempt to fix some of what they really screwed up when they made the park. This includes changing a lot of the theming that doesn’t make any sense unless you’ve talked to someone who actually knows the backstory about it. Like the desert airfield theme by Soarin’ Over California. If I hadn’t told you that’s what that area was about, I’m fairly certain that you never would have known. At least I didn’t.
As a part of all this, the design team (led by John Lasseter of Pixar) has decided that they are going to remove Muppet Vision 3-D and put in Philharmagic. Now, I love the Muppets. They were a super important part of my childhood. While part of me is sad that they’re getting their real estate pulled out from underneath them, I understand why. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone walk into their attraction in the last, oh, dozen visits I’ve made to the park. Myself included. Philharmagic is such a nice attraction, and it seems like it will easily fit right in with the less modern version of Hollywood Blvd. they plan on changing that section of the park into.
I say it’s time to make a trip to the park when it goes in. Any takers?

Woohoo! Philharmagic! I don’t have to travel to Florida to get my 3D Donald Duck fix anymore!
Now if they’d just put a Germany section into California Adventure. Beer all around!
Yes, I know it doesn’t fit with the theme of the park. And yes, I know that there already is beer at DCA, but just go with it.
