Since I had some extra time tonight, I decided to rent a movie. For some insane reason, I decided to get Hard Candy. I’m not usually one for the thrillers, but the trailer for this one caught my attention some time back. And yes, I had read a few reviews that mentioned the part of the movie that makes every man in the room cross his legs and look away. Which makes it even more insane that I decided to watch it.
Needless to say it creeped me out a bit. Watching a young girl talk and act like an insane 45 year old is disconcerting to say the least. But, at the same time, I spend a good part of the movie not being sure who I wanted to come out on top. I know this is odd in a movie about a child molester, but the girl is every bit as messed up as he is. She does end up having her motives for doing what she does to him, but. . .well, just no.
So, the movie’s worth a watch if you’re female. If you’re male, I’d think twice, just because that one scene is too painful for words.
I hope you don’t get any ideas from this movie.
